Mukima Manor, Nanyuki, Kenya

Cradled on the foothills of Mount Kenya is a boutique country manor on a 300-acre sanctuary in Northern Kenya.

What is a Retreat

A retreat is a time to escape the noise and complexity of modern life and immerse yourself into an environment that allows you to slow down and deepen your experience with yourself, and the world around you. Our retreats are intentionally small and intimate, allowing for a more personal experience.

The Meditation being a central theme in our retreats, although rooted in the Tibetan Buddhist teachings, is entirely secular.

Retreat life is simple, with a daily program to follow. There are periods of meditation, movement, silence, teachings and discussion. There is time for reflection and of course, quiet meal times to enjoy every morsel of the delicious food that will be served. Without having to return to the demands and distractions of everyday life at the end of each day, the practice has time to develop and settle.

A retreat is not a spa or a vacation, however most people leave feeling far more refreshed, re energised and inspired.

Accommodation

All the rooms are elegantly designed, spacious, ensuite and with views of the sanctuary. Single rooms and a limited number of twin rooms are available to book.

“Mahamri’s retreats came at a perfect time for me as I was struggling with anxiety. It introduced me to the practice of meditation.
